This Italian dinette in Lafayette not only expanded the room (see the phone?) but put the diners on the beach in Italy!!!
This room for the Marin Designer Showcase, was painted as if you were on the deck of the Golden Gate Bridge. The east wall had a whimsical skyline of San Francisco; the west wall had a road going to the rainbow tunnel in Marin and lots of rolling hills and oak trees. The beam existed and was painted to resemble the design on the bridge with the tower "rising" in perspective painted on the ceiling. I really love painting THEME ROOMS and can design and create a fantasy room for you!
NATURE'S BEDROOM, another Marin Designer Showcase room, was created with Peg Gildersleeve, a Belvedere designer. The faux flagstone floor is latex paint on the subflooring plywood; two walls are the exterior of a house painted with faux lapboard siding complete with a few critters (lizard, butterfly, spider); a real raingutter is installed for effect. The two garden walls are lavishly painted with a pergola to give the total effect of being on a patio. A real bird house was hung on a "post" and realistic bird droppings were painted on the floor. Imagine if this was your guest room!
